I
would like to introduce you to the Light of my Life. She was named after
the singer, Nina Simoné, and she is a Siamese mix with a stray -
domestic shorthair most likely. After I had first acquired her she started
singing. At first I thought she was lonesome, but come to find out, it was
when she would be hungry and her bowl was empty that she would sing for
her food.
We live in Pinson, Alabama, along with her elder sister ZuZu who is as big
around as she is tall. They get along great - as you can see in the
picture.
She is a very shy cat and after slipping out once, she stays inside and is
quiet happy with her role in our family. As you can see, after that
outing, she provided the family with three bundles of joy on March 15th of
last year. She had her litter on my bed while I slept so that she would be
close to me - imagine my surprise!
They were two males named Harry (solid black) and Larry (black and white),
and a female Moe (who looks just like her Momma). I could not find anyone
to take Larry or Moe so they are now a part of the family.
She plays with them and grooms them and teaches them bad habits... she has
not taught them to sing yet but I think that could happen in the future.
I think Simoné is special with her looks and her ability to sing...
maybe she will be famous one day, just like her namesake!
