I
just adopted Capitaine Moogli in February. I've been volunteering in an
animal shelter for the past two months and that's how I got to know this
cat. He first touched me with his paw as I was passing by. I told him then
that I could not adopt him because I already had two cats at home.
January 29th, I had to euthanize Fifille, my grandmother's cat who stayed
with me for the last six years. To help me go through this loss, I decided
to spend the day at the SPCA where I had been volunteering. First thing I
asked was if Moogli was still available. This cat chose me from day one.
Every time I worked at the shelter, he gently reached out to me with his
paw on my shoulder or my forehead.
I named him Capitaine Moogli because his front paws both have double
thumbs with double claws... quite uncommon. He made me think of Capitaine
Crochet (Captain Hook) in Walt Disney's movies.
So far he has been a very good cat, gentle, loving and easy going. He gets
along very well with my other cat. Capitaine Moogli is now going outside,
he was miserable staying inside. He must have been an outside cat before I
had him. I spent one week going outside with him, showing him where he
could go and walking around the property. I told him not to go in the
street and I think he understood. He remains close by and always comes
back when I call him. He has a brand new red medal with his name on it. He
looks mighty handsome with it. He's got a crazy side, very playful and
energetic!
Please adopt a cat from a shelter, spend time with them, do not hurry your
decision, a cat will pick you, that's the way it works! You will then have
the best cat for you and also the best friend ever!
