world! Our names are Luna and Howard, and we're the best of friends!
Howard was adopted three years ago from Paradise Animal Rescue. He used to
be such a feisty and frisky kitten, often treating his mom and dad as
though they were litter-mates and trying to assert himself as Alpha Cat of
that litter. Over the years, though, he has mellowed out nicely and is now
the most calm and affectionate and loving cat you can imagine--he's just
very picky about who he shows that affection to. If you are lucky enough
to be on Howard's list of Favorite People, he will sit on your lap for
hours and ask (no, demand) to be petted and petted and petted... And if
you stop petting him before he's been satisfied, he will say "Meow" loudly
and head-butt your hand. Howard especially likes his whiskers, ears, and
the base of his tail scratched. Do that and you'll have a loyal friend for
life. Howard's favorite things (besides attention, that is) are watching
Sponge Bob Squarepants, sitting by the window and observing the world,
sleeping on discarded items of clothing, and playing and cuddling with his
little sister, Luna. Oh... and if you want to give Howard a tasty tidbit,
don't give him a cat treat or tuna. Give him a raisin or two (that's his
favorite). Howard is very a happy cat and always smiles when getting his
photo taken, as you can see.
Luna was adopted last summer from a local farm as a friend for Howard.
Since then, the two of them have been instant and inseparable friends.
Luna is pretty and she knows it. Very much the little princess. Very much
the girly-girl. Very much the cat. Although she is a tad high maintenance,
she's really a very sweet kitty and definitely has her moments when she
wants to cuddle on her Mom's lap or have her soft fur very gently pet.
Just don't bug her when she's not in the mood. At these times Luna
wouldn't think of biting or scratching, but if looks could kill... We
think she'll grow up to be just as sweet as Howard. She just needs to
mature a little bit more. Luna's favorites are playing soccer with
crumpled-up wads of paper (sometimes she'll even play fetch!), food of any
kind (she actually will sit up and beg), and Howard. Like any little
sister to her big brother, wherever Howard goes, Luna is sure to follow.
