CC's breeder told us that CC stands for "carbon copy" because she was a
perfect copy of her prize-winning parents, Gift-of-the-Magi
and Copy Cat. I absolutely fell with her kitten picture on the breeder's
web-site. She has lived with us five years now and is the absolute
"mistress of the house," with us humans at her beck and call, and her niece
Patty Cake subservient to her.
She has to be the most vocal cat we have ever encountered. Her extent of
her vocabulary would challenge a lexicographer. And she is extremely
social, greeting every visitor or delivery person as if s/he came expressly
to pay her a visit. She greets anyone and everyone with a loud "Maaah" that
sometimes sounds like a goat bleating. And she absolutely loves our
grandsons. Where most other cats might hide under the bed when small
children come on the scene, CC is there to meet them, greet them, and play
with them. (And the boys, who absolutely adore her, know not to play
rough.) I included a photo of her guarding them as they sleep.
Unlike most cats who sleep lightly and are wholly awake in a flash, you can
set a bomb off next to her and she will open one eye and look at you
boldly, as if to say, "What?!" (Her hearing is absolutely fine. BTW, her
niece Patty Cake sleeps the same way. She loves to be the center if
attention. I cannot tell you how many time, especially during holidays,
when the dining room table is fully set, she makes herself the centerpiece.
She is a very special cat.
