Hi,
my name is Mr. French. I'm almost four years old and I am a Flame-Point
Persian. I think I am pure-bred. I was adopted by my Mom from a feline
rescue society in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, who in turn, rescued me
from impending doom at an animal shelter in Calgary. Nobody knows much about
me, and I'm not saying much either. I like to think I am Mysterious. My Mom
saw me on the Internet and drove all the way to Medicine Hat from Montana to
get me. She said it was "love at first sight". Something about my crazy fur.
I thought for sure it would be my big blue eyes. My Dad thought she was nuts
for driving that far, but when he met me, he said, "Cool Cat", and I knew I
had him. We're best buddies now!
I only eat dry cat food. I love it so much that I turn up my nose at anything
else, even canned tuna! My Mom gives me cat treats and those are pretty good,
I guess. My Dad won't let me drink out of his water bowl and gets pretty
feisty when I go anywhere near it. Something about cat spit in his water.
What's the big deal? We're family, right? I think it has more to do with my
droopy mustaches. They get all wet and I have to shake the water off. My Dad
hates that. Well, hey, he drips all over me when he gets out of the shower.
Paybacks, mister.
My favorite toy is a running shoestring. That darn thing is fast. But I'm
pretty quick myself and I catch it a lot. Sometimes it just lays there all
day. It must be sleeping. It only wakes up when my Dad or my Mom is home.
When my Dad and my Mom are gone, it's pretty boring around here so I sleep a
lot. My favorite spot is on Dad's side of the bed. Sometimes I sleep next to
my Mom's laptop because it has a foot-warmer. I am so happy when they come
home that I follow them around the house and tell them all about my day. I
want them to know I was busy, and not just laying around. Then that shoe
string starts running around, and the rugs start jumping all over the
place, and pretty soon my people are chasing me! They love to play too.
I swear they must have a bit of cat in them. At night, I have to prowl around
and make sure everything is just right before we hit the sack. Then I get in
bed next to my Mom's head and sleep. She keeps turning me around so she can
see my face, but I always turn back so my tail is in her face. I like to pet
her with it.
I am mostly an indoor cat, but sometimes my Mom takes me outside and lets me
play in the grass. There are jumpy things and buzzy things and birds in
trees. Those are pretty cool. I love to streak across the yard when my Mom
tries to catch me. Man, she's slow. All in all, life is pretty good here. I
think I will keep these people. I love them.
