My
name is Sophie and I am just six months old. I was born in a barn that had
a lot of horses and other cats. A barn is not a good place for little kittens
so the barn people took my mommy and all us little kittens home. I was happy
in the basement with my mommy and my brothers and sisters. One day the barn
people took my mommy away, they said she needed to be fixed so she could go
back to the barn. I was sad when my mommy was gone but I still had my
brothers and sisters. People started to come to see us and one by one, my
brothers and sisters went to their forever homes. I wanted to go to a forever
home too but I was never picked! One-day two nice people came to the house to
see me and my sister. They wanted a kitten and they picked me!
There were three big cats at my new forever home. Two of the cats did not
like me. They would hiss at me when I would try to play with them. The
biggest of the cats was really big and she was nice to me. She would let me
cuddle up and nap with her just like I did with my mommy! I really liked her
a lot. Her name was Mandy and she made my first few days at my new home very
nice. I liked the people who lived in the house too. They gave me many toys
to play with and good food to eat; I even have my own little kitten bed! I
was very happy until Mandy got sick and she would not get out of her bed or
eat. I did not know it but Mandy was an old cat. The people took Mandy to the
vet but Mandy did not come back. I was very sad again because I missed my
friend Mandy.
It has been some time since Mandy went away, I still miss her but I am not as
sad. The other cats don't hiss at me and the people give me lots of love. I
like playing with my stuffed mouse and the balls with the bells in them. I
like to sit on the big persons lap when he reads his doctor books and writes
his doctor papers. I love baskets especially when they have warm towels in
them or fleecy blankets.
I had a hard start in life but now I have my forever home, a nice bed, my
stuffed mouse and lots of love!
