I
got Oscar in an unusual way. My previous love, Bukey, passed away in May of
2008. It was now September 2010 and I had still not gotten another kitty. I
was still mourning the loss of Bukey, who had been with me for fourteen years.
During early September 2010 a co-worker told me her daughter was moving back
in with her and that she didn't want her daughter's cat, Oscar, in the house
because she had five dogs. She asked me to create a poster of Oscar and put
it up on various bulletin boards in our office to see if anyone wanted him.
Her daughter found out about this and told her mother that she wanted me, and
only me, to take Oscar. I had met Oscar while Bukey was still alive and
really liked him. Her daughter knew of my absolute love of cats and had
learned through her mother that I was getting itchy to fall in love with
another furry companion. So I told her mother that I'd take Oscar and I
immediately tore up the posters I'd made. Two days later they brought Oscar
over to my place. He's been a delight and has brightened my mood. At first,
Oscar was depressed about losing his mommy, which was understandable. He was
also wondering who I was and why he was now living in my condo. But over the
past few months he's adjusted to his new surroundings and and his new daddy
and we're now very close. Oscar loves to race around my little place by
jumping on counter tops and coffee tables and desks. He's extremely athletic,
inquisitive about everything and very photogenic. With my hobby being
photography I've enjoyed taking many photos of him. He loves to sit on a
computer box placed in front of the front door's screen door and look outside
at birds and people. He sleeps at the end of the bed at night and sometimes
wants to get under the covers. I know in time we'll grow even closer. I had
really thought that I wanted another girly girl cat like my beloved Bukey but
I have grown to love my little dude.
