Lizzie
and Fiona have been part of my household (I have two other cats,
both fourteen years old) since early February of this year. They are
approximately months old in these pictures. A friend's husband was
unloading a truck at his job with his crew, and they found three kittens in
one of the boxes. They found a home for one kitten, and a friend and I
originally planned to each take one of the two remaining kittens. But I
kept them both at my house overnight and they were so sweet together I
couldn't stand the thought of them being separated. So I wound up with
both of them. When they arrived, my vet said they were only three to four weeks old,
and each weighed less than a pound. They fit in the palm of my hand and
were so sweet. Now Fiona, the calico, weighs over five pounds and Lizzie, the
"tortico", weighs over four pounds, and I can't imagine life without them. They
have boundless energy and zest for life. We're still working on getting my
older calico to accept that they're here to stay. My tuxedo cat is
resigned to it and tolerates their exuberance fairly well.
