This
is my three-year-old cat named Quagmire. He is a character to say the
least. In fact, I think he believes he is as big as a panther. He has no
fear! It is hard to believe that I didn't even want him when my husband
brought him home. He was a runt and he could fit in the palm of my hand.
He has grown to be a handsome guy.
Quagmire is so special because he isn't like any cat. His personality is
quite unique. The real reason he is so special to our family is because
when we moved to our house from an apartment, he was almost two years old,
he took off for over 24 hours. Two little neighbor girls came over and
asked if I had a black cat, and I answered yes why? And they told me that
he was dead on the be hind our house, close to the their bus stop. I
couldn't go confirm it, so I sent my husband and when he came back with
the saddest look on his face I didn't know what to do. I couldn't believe
he was gone, he is far too smart to get run over. I cried for a while and
my seven-year-old was crushed, but about 7 pm that day I opened the front door
and in walked Quagmire. Back from the dead or who knows where, probably
listening to me call him for hours on end, relaxing somewhere. But the
weird thing is the dead cat that my husband confirmed was Quagmire, was
gone the same time Quagmire came home!
Quagmire is a true cat, and never of course would reveal his secrets, but
we are just glad he was okay! He is a superior hunter (the best). Nothing
moves in backyard here in Mesa, Arizona without Quagmire knowing about it.
We sure love him and wouldn't trade Quagmire for the world.
