Eight
months ago I found this striped little kitten at a local shelter.
She was the first kitten I picked up and she greeted me with a loud purr
and nuzzled my face. And since Im a total sucker for purrs and nuzzles...I
was sold. I took the two month old kitty home, named her Josette and
introduced her to her newest BFF, Al. Josie wasted no time making herself
comfortable in her new home. She was very sleepy and snuggly her first few
weeks and spent hours snuggled up on neck and trying to get Al's
attention. Josie quickly let me know that she was a foodie. Josie-cat
loves food and everything to do with food. After several months of
"training" she now knows that if she gives us space to eat, she might
benefit from being so well behaved and cute and get a little at the end. I
often find her on the kitchen counter while something is boiling on the
stove, or perhaps watching toast cook in the toaster. Josie is a wonderful
assistant chef.
Al - who is about eight years old has come to really love her littlest friend.
Josie keeps Al young and moving and they share a loud, crazy hour each
night chasing each other around. I've caught them snuggled up in baskets
together and they seem to enjoy each others company - for the most part.
Josie seems to take things very seriously but is also a bit of a dork
(which is why she earned herself the nickname Weenie-cat). Josie is a
little clumsy. I try and remind her to not take herself so seriously but
she's still learning. Josie is also a talker. She's always yelling at me
and bossing me around (mostly for me to feed her). Girl's got a lot on her
mind and wants to share!
Josette is the first kitty or pet that I ever had the chance to pick out
myself. I was hoping to find a long-haired fluffy kitten but Josie sucked
me right in on my first day of my cat search! She is becoming a very sweet
and lovable kitten. I love watching how her personality changes as she
gets older. She still nuzzles my face (great way for me to not yell at her
for being on the counter), she's learning to practice her floor rolling
poses to compete with Al's, and she is also very social. Josette loves
hanging out with who ever is over, whether they want her company or not.
Josie has been a wonderful addition and I already can't imagine my life
without her.
