My
name is Lola. I was laying in a litter box with my siblings in a tiny
cage at the Humane Society, when my Dad pointed me out to my Mom. She was
immediately smitten with me, which is perfectly understandable considering
how beautiful I am. I was a tiny kitty when they brought me home on
Christmas Eve and I was very shy and loved to hide under things. When my
parents were getting ready to go to their Christmas Eve party, they
realized they couldn't find me anywhere. They looked and looked for me
under every sofa, bed, dresser, end table, etc but they could not find me.
Their family convinced them that I would turn up, but they spent the
entire evening worried that I had gotten out into the cold somehow and
that I wouldn't turn up. When they returned home, they heard me meowing
and realized I had crawled under the entertainment center and stayed there
for the night. I had to have a little fun with my new parents, didn't I?
This would be the first of many pranks I would play on them. My techniques
vary but you can always be sure I'll find a way to keep myself and my
parents entertained.
In addition to my mischievous personality, I am very loving. I love to
sleep under the covers next to my Mom when my Dad is out of town. My Mom
works from home most of the time, and her job can be stressful. Thankfully
she has me with her each day to keep her company and give her love,
cuddling with her and purring, keeping her sane while she deals with
difficult situations. Sometimes all she has to do is look at me and she
immediately feels better. I'm also a great supervisor when others are
doing chores. Not only do I make sure I'm in the prime spot to see
everything being done (especially when my Mom is making my Dad's
sandwiches for his lunch), I challenge her to keep her on her toes. Sure
it's easy enough to make a sandwich without the kitty attempting to steal
every morsel of food that might fall on the counter, but how mundane would
that be? Nope, I make sure I keep my mom busy at all times trying to
juggle her tasks with keeping me from stealing someone else's meal. She
does have to multitask at work. What better way to enhance her skills?
I have definitely made my parents' lives more fun and interesting and they
love me so much, I'm sure they just can't imagine life without me! I bring
lots of love and laughter with me every time I enter a room. One of my
parents' favorite things to see is the way I love to be held - stretched
out on my back. It feels good for me and gives them yet another thing to
chuckle at.
