Approximately
six months ago a stray cat showed up in our backyard. We
wanted to get her to take her to the SPCA as it was obvious she was not
being fed or groomed. Well everyday she would come for her food and was
starting to make strides on getting close to us. One morning in Mid April,
we walked out to feed her and were greeted with hisses and growls. Later
that afternoon we found out why. She had given birth to a litter of three
kittens under our mobile home. We started trying to make friends with the
kittens also and feeding them so our original plan of SPCA bound would
include all four. Wrong! The one kitten we nicknamed Brave Heart for it
showed no fear, is now Sandy and has made itself quite happy and content
in our home. It took me forever to get the fleas and flea feces off him.
Anyway here is Sandy. He is already on YouTube. He was born approximately
on 4/15/11 in Tampa Bay Florida and is a medium shorthaired, as far as we
can tell. He weighed one pound four ounces when we brought him into our home.
He loves to play with anything and everything and loves to be brushed
everyday too. So I guess you could say he is two months now, give or take.
Since Sandy made his way into the house, his female litter mate has joined
us also. She is an adorable Calico who is very camera shy at the moment. I
guess that is two that won't be making it to the SPCA! That is just fine,
they are adorable and we have a wonderful home to make their lives so much
more meaningful then living in dirt and stuff outside.
