Meet
my wonderful cat, Diddle. I adopted her from Project-Save-a-Cat where I
volunteer to socialize rescued cats for adoption. Diddle is strong-willed and
somewhat demanding when she makes her wishes known. She can be quite vocal,
engaging in lengthy conversations including, I think, some backtalk at times.
Diddle and her fellow feline housemate are leash-trained so they can enjoy
the outdoors safely. They love sitting on the "chipmunk wall" while hanging
out in the garden - under supervision and with harness / rope, of course.
Walks around the property are fun too. Diddle has had her share of adventure.
She frequently races up the arbor and various trees (even onto the house
roof!) - rope and all. She never met a ladder she didn't climb. She has even
joined me sledding on the gentle slope of the front lawn!
This cat has several traits that make her special. She's very agile, and is
occasionally found perched atop the refrigerator. It's amusing to watch her
balance on a chair in the kitchen as she waits for a treat of her beloved
cantaloupe. Like many of her kind, she thinks the best water comes directly
from the tap.
Diddle is always ready for action, impatient to get the day started. She gets
bored during bad weather when outdoor outings are not possible. At such times
she enjoys the "snack game," enthusiastically hunting for hidden "crunchies'
in the sunroom. She often engages in a game of race 'n' chase or rough and
tumble wrestling matches with her housemate, Dobey. Recently I gave her
lessons to learn to jump over a yard stick and through a hoop. It was amazing
how quickly she mastered these new skills!
All in all, Diddle's well-rounded personality makes her a valued family member.
