Tiffany
(Tiff for short) is Himalayan who belonged to a friend of mine who
was a long-haul truck driver. Tiff used to go everywhere on the truck and
was a familiar kitty amongst the truck drivers. When my friend married,
they wanted a dog and asked me to care for Tiff. I took her in. In 2009, I
acquired a roommate and Tiff took an immediate liking to her. Tiff never
left her side and used to cry outside her bedroom door if she didn't let
her in. Today, that roommate is on scholarship and studying in Jordan, so
Tiff stayed with me while she studies overseas. Tiff loves being in the
sunshine, can be very finicky about her food and doesn't like to share her
human. She's very laid back and doesn't mind a little
roughhousing.
Tiff's personality is an independent one. She loves to be the only cat
around. She doesn't meow a lot, unless her water isn't clean enough or her
favorite food is missing from the bowl. Tiff doesn't know too many tricks,
but she does know her name very well and if you call her from a different
room, she will come running. She's affectionate with those she chooses to
be affectionate with and won't leave your lap for hours, if you let her.
She's definitely the princess of the bunch. She loves to be brushed and
loves to play with laser lights.
She's very wary of new people. She'll run and open the kitchen or bathroom
cabinets and hide out in there for hours. One time, I caught her hiding in
my large stock pot. My favorite thing about her is that she doesn't beg
for food. My two other cats, both boys, come running as soon as I bring
out a plate of food, but Tiff just stares at them like the princess she
is. It's going to be hard to give her back to my old roommate later on
this year. She's entertaining to have around the house.
