Simba
is a very special kitty. He is absolutely amazing and there is
nothing that he won't try. We're not sure if he was born defective or it
happened shortly after. He has three legs that are malformed and a short
tail with a few kinks. When he walks, it's at a slow pace, but when it's
time to run, he is almost as fast as my other two cats. He climbs onto the
furniture by pulling himself up, but has no qualms in asking for
assistance with just a look from his eyes and opening his mouth. I have
never heard him actually meow, but he purrs and makes this other noise
when playing with the other two cats. He is a very quick learner, usually
picking it up the first time he sees it. He loves to play and the cat
toys, acquired over many years, have never had such a workout.
Sometimes I still wish I could get his legs fixed, but with his heart
murmur, it's not an option. He is doing well. He's better at climbing up
on chairs and even our bed. His one leg has grown together at the knee, so
he has limited use. It helps him to jump up. He still chases his adopted
brother and sister, sometimes much to their dismay. He can be found
playing either with cat toys or homemade toys when he's not sleeping. He
has to be one of the most affectionate cats I've ever had the pleasure to
have and he seems to like most everyone he meets.
I always have a smile when I talk about Simba. He is the most affectionate
and smartest cat we have ever had. Simba has a very special place in our
hearts. He is one special kitty.
