I
discovered Daniel at the Marin County Humane Society. I had been on-line
reading cat bio's and was planning on bringing another cat home. I was not
even aware of Daniel as he was not advertised yet. When I first laid eyes
on him he resembled a little ocelot! He was very quiet, not a peep out of
him. Daniel is an extremely shy and introverted kitten. I had a very good
experience adopting Daniel and I want to give a shout out to Pat, who was
the volunteer that pointed Daniel out to me. If it was not for her I would
not have known about Daniel. He had just been neutered and this was his
first "showing". He would be a challenge and I was certainly up for the
task. Two and a half hours later with Daniel safely hidden in his crate, I dashed to
Costco to pick up some kitty litter (I had already purchased "toys" at the
shelter for him).
Daniel still displays furtive movements and continues to remain hidden. If
not for the bell on his collar I would not be able to locate him. Recently
we let him have the run of the house during the evening. Each morning I
will find him under my bedroom table, all curled up and nestled against
one of the table legs. He is used to my head poking under the table and he
allows me to scratch him - all the while purring away J. And yes, he has
stopped the "buffalo herding" which kept us awake until midnight
sometimes.
He is growing larger each day and in time will become more familiar with
us and our activities. So far he appears to have adjusted well. He is a
little "purr-bot" and a nice cuddle buddy to have around. We love you Daniel!
