Theresa
is a very special kitten. She was extremely ill with an upper
respiratory infection that had even gotten into her eyes and she could not
see. The local shelter could not afford to give her the medical care that
she needed and was going to put her to sleep the next morning because
there was nothing else they could do. I pulled her out of the shelter and
brought her home. She was covered in fleas, I stopped counting at 50 as I
bathed her and cleaned her up. She was given capstar and antibiotics and
was fed nutri-cal from a syringe for the first few days and it was very
touch and go. Slowly she got better and a few weeks later started to
regain her sight! She now is just a little nearsighted, though most of the
time you wouldn't know it. She is now fat and happy and make visits as a
therapy cat with her big "sister" Cali to the local nursing homes and
hospice patients, brightening up their days. She also comes with me when I
make presentations about the benefits of animal therapy. She is popular
wherever she goes!
