I
adopted Mr. Bigglesworth when he was five years old. I walked in and asked
for the biggest male cat they had, and I was directed straight to him. He
was named in honor of the cat in Austin Powers movies, but luckily
responds to several nicknames so he needn't be embarrassed by his name in
public. We have been together now for six years, and he has been a great
companion through my college and grad school years. He is a very loving
and affectionate cat who enjoys basking in the sun on the balcony, sitting
in the bathtub, and playing with big dogs.
Biggles is particularly unique as he loves to ride in the car, and has
logged about 10,000 miles in road trips (sometimes I even bring him along
for a trip through the bank drive-thru). He sleeps most nights on my
pillow, sometimes with me but more often alone as he moves me out of the
way. Unfortunately, Biggles was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism.
Currently, he takes two pills a day, but he has become a most complacent
patient who hardly notices when I slip him his doses. I feel thankful for
every day that he is with me, and think he is quite a handsome guy!
