We
adopted Cooper in June 2011 from the local Humane Society. He had
originally been adopted out as a kitten and was returned shortly after his
second birthday. We adopted him three months later after loosing our
nineteen-year-old beloved kitty Ross. To this day we have no idea why Cooper was
returned to the humane society. He is so loving and silly and snuggly. He
stepped out of his carrier that first day and took over the house. He
likes to jump up on his hind legs to meet any hand that is coming down to
pet him then he flops over on his side and starts rolling over and over.
He loves our back window sill which is deep and comfy for him to lay on
and watch the birds, squirrels and our family tortoise that we feed out
back every day.
Cooper and our little peek-a-poo dog are still working out a few issues
between them. Zoe likes to go up and sniff Cooper. Cooper isn't thrilled
by being the sniffee of this situation so runs away. Zoe thinks this is an
invitation to play chase, so she does. Cooper either hops up on the
bathroom counter and settles down into the sink until doggie gets bored or
he hops up onto his cat tree and then decides to take a cat nap, again
leaving the dog to her boredom. They do really like each other tho and I
think they would miss the other if they were the only ones in the house
again.
As we said earlier, to this day we cannot figure out why Cooper's previous
owners had to give him back to the humane society. He is such a wonderful
cat. He is soft and snuggly. At least if for some reason they had to not
have a pet anymore, they brought him back to give him a chance to find
another family to love and treasure him. Thank you to Coopers former
family, we adore this solid black big cat. He will always have a home with
us, no doubt about it, Cooper is home.
