Popcorn
was adopted about two years ago at an adoption event at a local
pet store. She was the last kitten left out of her brothers and sisters.
As soon as she looked up at me with her round yellow eyes, I knew I had to
take her home. That day, I was trying to decide a good name for my new
kitten. A friend walked inside the front door, and exclaimed, "smells like
popcorn!" Nobody was cooking popcorn at the time, so I don't really know
what compelled him to say that. However, ever since then, Popcorn has been
my kitty's name!
Popcorn is quite a quirky cat. She loves drinking out of glasses, and
never drinks out of her water bowl. I have to be careful whenever I leave
a glass out on the table, because I have caught her drinking out of my
glass. She tears up all the paper she can get to, so I also have to be
careful about leaving important papers out. One time, she even chewed up
my homework! Her favorite toy is a little stuffed dalmatian dog. She often
carries it around in her mouth while saying "meow! meow!" and then cradles
it in her paws. I believe she thinks it's her own kitten!
I love Popcorn so much - she has brought so much joy into my life. I can't
imagine life without her!
