Yuki
was a stray cat that wandered into our backyard about four years ago.
She immediately began to hiss as we approached her. We soon found out that
she was protecting a litter of five kittens that she had recently given
birth to. Yuki was a wonderful mom to her kittens. We found homes for all
but one of the kittens. Yuki and the remaining kitten became a part of our
family. We had never had a cat before, and didn't know how attached our
family would become to them.
We still do not know where Yuki came from. She still has a "wild" side to
her, and is very wary of strangers. She used to be an outdoor/indoor cat,
but she would oftentimes stay out all night. Twice, she was gone for about
a week. After the second time, we decided that she would be safer if kept
inside. She was a little upset at first, but she's now content being an
indoor cat.
Yuki is a very playful cat and when she's happy she lays on her cat tree
upside down. She doesn't seem interested in most toys but loves to play
with a shoestring. She loves attention and is always looking for a lap to
sit on or for someone to rub her belly. She's definitely one amazing cat
with an equally amazing story. We are just so happy that she wandered into our lives!
