Meet
Zoey! She is a ten month old Tuxedo cat. I came across her this
summer when she was only a little kitten lost in the woods near our home.
She followed us home and she hasn't stopped following me since! She
definitely knows who her Mommy is!
Contrary to what I would expect with a tiny kitten, Zoey didn't shy away
from us at all, but rather climbed right up and started purring and
nuzzling my face! She is the most affectionate and lovable cat I've ever
had. I could tell she was so grateful to be welcomed into our loving home
and given lots of food to eat. Zoey loves to be close and always needs to
be touching me with at least one paw. I think it's to make sure I'm not
going anywhere when she takes a cat nap. If I need her to follow me
somewhere, all I have to say is, "I'm leaving without you," and she runs
after me because the poor thing doesn't want to be left alone again.
Zoey loves to snuggle up close to me and take naps but she also loves to
play! Her favorite toy is her feather stick. She is like a circus cat
jumping about three feet up in the air trying to catch this colorful toy.
She loves climbing trees and sunbathing outside. Another one of her
favorite things to do is sit on the deck next to the bird feeder. She is
fascinated by all the birds and insects outside and can entertain herself
for hours playing in the yard. She thinks she is a tiger prowling around
in the high grass.
Zoey is fearless. She always needs to be right in the action, especially
when food is involved. She thinks the dining room table is an acceptable
place for a nap and loves seeking out the perfect hiding spot from which
to plan an attack. She will even take on our dog Tanner! He's less than
thrilled over being suddenly pounced on by the cat. Zoey's personality is
the best of both worlds. She is such a beautiful and loving cat but also
is a playful and loyal companion like a dog would be. She even tries to
play fetch in the yard, though she is still trying to figure out how to
bring the ball back. She is even a veteran car rider! I never hear so much
as a peep from her when we go for rides but sometimes she will stick her
paw out of the carrier so we can hold hands. She is always sad when she
can't go along but she watches in the window for me to come home and runs
downstairs to the door to greet me every time.
From rags to riches, this little princess is now very spoiled and living
the good life. Not only has she found a loving home and a mommy who adores
her, but I have gained a lifelong friend as well.
