Hi
everyone, this is Kira, kitty extraordinaire, aka Kira Bira or "the
little stinker." We got Kira from the Humane Society of Miami/Adopt a Pet
in September 2010 when she was four months old. I knew the minute I held
her she was mine, she was purring and touching my cheek with her paw and
melting my heart. The dog in the picture is our Golden Retriever Katie,
sadly we lost her to a stroke last July after sixteen years. Katie and Kira
were great friends, Kira liked to sleep in Katie's tail and nestle in her
fur. Katie didn't mind at all. Kira has been a big help in the healing
process, she is so full of love, energy (and mischief) that she keeps us
busy almost 24/7.
Her favorite place to hang out is our patio, she's fallen in the pool at
least three times that we know of, and she loves to hide behind the plants
and stalk lizards, yum! My husband calls our patio her "office". Although
lizards are her favorite, she's also fond of ants or basically anything
that moves. Kira's latest project is masterminding the art of ambushing;
out of nowhere she gleefully manages a surprise attack on our legs at
least several times a day!
Kira is a great traveler; we started taking her with us on car trips to
our home in North Carolina when she was six months old. We plop her in her
Sherpa bag and she just curls up and goes to sleep, no problem! Lucky for
us that she's so adaptable as we travel back and forth from Miami to
North Carolina about four times a year.
We love our little tuxedo kitty, even when she's at her most mischievous
(which is most of the time). I hope you consider a rescue animal as a
companion, you'll give them a forever home and in return you'll have a
forever friend.
