I
would love to honor our Sweet Charlotte a.k.a. Charlie because of her
expansive love and funny ways. Our Charlie is such a hoot! She is a Maine
Coon mix, and she has the most amazing tail, big paws and loverly green eyes.
She is loved by everybody even though she can be so naughty at times. When
she was little she loved swinging off the curtains, crawling into small
places or climbing high, sleeping in odd places, and stealing food. She has
stopped the swinging off curtains but still does everything else!
We have these two little girls, eleven-year+old twins who come over to visit
all the time now because of Charlie. It all started with them falling in love
with Charlie when they saw her outside the one day. They play with her
non-stop and she lets them do anything to her, she loves them and they love her.
Charlie is now four years old, and she was a rescue. She was only about fifteen to sixteen
ounces when we got her, terribly underweight, and she fit in the palm of my
hand. She was starving and had infections in her chest, ears, eyes, and nose.
She will never be full sized because of her poor start in life, and she still
sometimes wheezes and gets congested, but it doesn't stop her from roaring
around. At our new house she is allowed outside and is a tremendous hunter.
She is sooooo fast! A few weeks ago she caught a crow and a Blue Jay - almost
unheard of considering her size but she is fast, very fast. We are trying to
keep her from getting the birds, only the rodents.
She is more a daddy's girl than a mommy's girl but every now and then she
remembers she hasn't given me kisses for a while and runs over, jumps on me
and gives me kisses, pats my cheek with her huge paw and then roars off. And
she doesn't meow...she burbles, chirps, squeaks and all manner of adorable sounds.
We love her very much for all the love and hi-jinks she brings to our home.
