Sam
was found in an apartment dumpster about four-and-a-half years ago. He had
an eye infection. The vet tried to save his eye, but it just wouldn't heal. A
few weeks after his eye was removed, Sam was ready to be adopted. We thought
he was the perfect fit to live with our other rescues, Vinnie (who is missing
a piece of his ear), Stella (who has a bad eye herself!), and Malcolm (who
has an overbite and constant drool).
Of the fast cats, Sam sees the best (odd, isn't it?); he loves to catch crane
flies, house flies, and geckos. He doesn't meow but makes a sound like a
sharp, quick bark. If he can't find anyone, he'll stand in the middle of the
house and say "halloooooooo???" until someone answers him! They all
come when called; they all know the meaning of "tuna", "breakfast", "dinner",
and "snack"; and they all sleep in the bed with us ... great in cold weather,
but not so much during the long & scorching Texas summer!
Our cats have trained us exceedingly well, Sam included, and we love them!
