When
we picked up our cat Rupert, we were told by the breeder not to expect a
lap cat. Forty-five minutes later he was sound asleep in my lap, flat on his
back. He is especially cuddly in the morning and snuggles up before getting
ready for the day, but tends to do his serious shuteye in the bathroom sink.
Rupert is completely fearless and will run toward the window when there is
thunder and lightening, while his sisters head for the basement. When
disciplined with a spray of water, he stops and runs toward it, seemingly
looking for more.
When Rupert gets into what we call his crazy phase, he bounces off the walls,
furniture and humans panting like a dog with his tongue hanging out.
Sometimes he slaps me as he zips by. Despite his constant hijinks torturing
his adopted older sisters, he doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Rupert
has a very expressive vocabulary of different meows.
His tongue prints have been discovered in the butter and he bounds into the
room if there is ice cream. His favorite toy is the Q-Tip and he climbs on to
the counter and retrieves them from a box. He also spends a lot of time
chasing his tail and jumping against the patio window in hopes of catching a
bug. We love him!
