This
is Plyšáček, in English his name is Plushie.
My grandpa cared for a cat called Minda at our cottage when it was winter.
One day she came back with two kittens. The kittens were females and they
were already grown up. They were outside cats but they decided to remain in
our garden. These two cats got pregnant at the same time from unknown male
cats and they both gave a birth at night from the 14th to the 15th of July.
They kept all nine kittens under the bench in our garden and I checked them
now and then to be sure everything was fine. But later I heard a kitten
meowing so I went outside. Two kittens had gotten lost ... they were just one
meter away from the other cats, but they didn't care about them. One kitten
was meowing there and the other one had fallen in a little pit between
pavement and ground. It was not moving, not meowing, all cold ... it seemed
dead, but it wasn't. When I grabbed it, it started meowing, but it was near
death. I kept putting him between the cats and other kittens so he'd stay
warm, because this little guy kept crawling away. In the end I made a little
barricade from pillows around cats, so the kitten couldn't get out and he survived.
Later I had to go back home from the cottage and I returned after two weeks.
At that time the kittens were bigger, trying to walk, and had opened their
eyes ... all of them survived and were all okay. The cats moved them to the
old shelter in the garden so they had more peace and quiet there. Later the
kittens decided to go out and play. I saw that one of the kittens was a lot
bigger and fluffier; he was the most cuddly, playful yet calmest kitten
there. When I checked the photos I took of the kitten that almost died, I
realized that the kitten looked like this big fluffy kitten I now liked, so I
knew that my beloved kitten is the one who almost died when he was born.
I started calling him Plushie, because he looks like plush little toy! He is
the only one who looks for me when I'm at home. He plays with my hands
without fear, follows me everywhere and through everything. The rest of
kittens will soon be given away to good homes, but Plushie will stay at the
cottage, I can't give him to anyone! I just love him, I saved him and I
simply have a need to see my little buddy every time I can!
