My
name is Willow. I am a long-hair Calico from the Maine Coon family. I was
adopted from a Humane Society in Illinois eight years ago. At the time I had
recently had my first (and only) litter of kittens and was in a foster home
full of dogs. As soon as my offspring were weaned and adopted, my new owner
was notified that I could be rescued.
He had never seen me in person, just my picture, but he had already decided.
When the day came, I was ready! My foster human called to me from the next
room. I immediately ran to her and jumped on her lap. There, standing beside
her was my new owner to be. He leaned over and picked me up. It was love at
first sight. We have been together ever since. I have one sister kitty that
is also a Calico but short haired, and not as beautiful as me. It is very
obvious that I am the queen of this castle. My owner also picked up a stray
person and married her! So now we are a very happy family living together in Wisconsin.
Don't let all the fur fool you - I am very very fluffy, but the vet says my
weight is fine. They got me shaved once because of I had so many tangles in
my long hair and they said I looked so small. I am glad it is all grown back in now.
