MoMo
is my beautiful, intelligent, loving kitty. She is one of the
happiest cats I have ever met. She wasn't always that way though. I
adopted her from a friend who had rescued her. My friend found her in an
abandoned house very sick and close to death. Of course, my friend
couldn't leave her there, so she brought her home to meet her four other
cats. As some of you may know, Siamese cats can tend to be fickle and hard
to please. MoMo did not like sharing a litter box and a food bowl (almost
as if she was born to be a Queen), and was always meowing and began to
annoy my friend. I was in love with her, every time I came to visit I
wanted to take her with me ... and eventually did just that!
At first I kept her as an indoor cat, and you could immediately see the
change in her "kitty aura." She needed her own space and quiet time. But
as the weeks went on she began to long for more, you could hear it in her
meows, Siamese cats are very good at communicating. I couldn't help but
empathize with her need for freedom, and soon started letting her outside
for brief moments at a time. I learned that I could trust her, she never
went far, and scarcely even left the yard. She is fixed so I didn't have
to worry about kittens (even if they are adorable). I think I may have
witnessed a cat try to start a fight with her once, and she just hissed
and came right home. So, today, she is an indoor/outdoor cat. We don't
even have a litter box anymore, which is really awesome! She comes in to
sleep, eat, cuddle, and play with my daughter Luna (who is almost two as
well). To us, she is much more than a Cat of the Day, she is the Cat of a lifetime.
