Maggie
was adopted at twelve weeks old from the Animal Rescue League. She is
now fifteen and just as healthy and happy as the day she came to us. Maggie
is a total lap cat who could be carried around all day and be perfectly happy
with that. If you are sitting, anywhere, she is on your lap. She is the
matriarch to our tribe of five, although it really isn't in her nature. She is
gentle and easy going and just loves human companionship. You could not find
a more affectionate, gentle girl than Maggie!
Maggie is very sociable. She hides at first when people come over, but comes
out shortly to check them out and make herself the center of attention.
Maggie is polydactyl and when she was young would use her 'thumb' like an
opposable thumb. She enjoys playing with the laser light and laying on the
deck when the sun is out for long periods. She has always been on the quiet
side, but like a shadow as she is always wherever you are!
Maggie spends the nights with us in bed and comes up by my head fairly early
in the AM to get attention, petting and loving. She can't go too long without
it! Then she follows me downstairs and waits in her 'spot' under one of the
kitchen chairs for her breakfast. She thinks she is too good to eat where the
rest of the cats eat. Then she just hangs around waiting to see what I am
going to do next. If nothing exciting or interesting is happening, she will
go off to one of her many beds throughout the house and take a nap. She loves
watching the birds outside and did I mention, getting attention!
Maggie is the quintessential lap cat!
