Late
in 1999, Grinch was available through Siamese Rescue, and I was
attracted by his photograph on their webpage. I tell people finding him
was my first experience with Internet dating!
The shelter workers had named him as a joke - he is very easy going, his
motto for a happy life is "whatever!" My husband and I thought the name
was a nice whimsical touch, so we kept it. He joined our household shortly
after the premature death of another cat, just after Christmas. I learned
when he arrived that a Grinch can give, not steal.
He has a favorite box for a nap, but often has trouble getting all of
himself into the box. Sometimes he makes it fit, however. He likes boxes
of all sizes, and you can see that sometimes he climbs in to a small box
and just spills over the edges. He cannot resist investigating a bag of
fresh vegetables just arrived from the farmers' market.
He has been an affectionate companion for over a decade. His activity
level is gradually slowing down, but he still has the energy for a brief
dash through the house on occasion.
