Bandit
was dumped by our house one night when he was a kitten. Since we do
not know where Bandit came from, we pretend he is a Norwegian Forest Kitty
and comes from a long line of royalty. Bandit said that he has some
memories of sailing with the Vikings.
He is very patriotic and supports our troops whenever he can. A very calm
fellow who does not mind car rides, he has been known to visit nursing
homes where residents can pet him. With his lush coat, there is plenty of
fur for every to pet! And he truly enjoys the attention.
Bandit is very fond of children, and greets everyone he sees. He loves to
eat and sleep when he is not entertaining all his adoring fans, or posing
for pictures. He's such a relaxed cat that you can see people relax more
as soon as they meet him!
Bandit is an unofficial therapy cat. Bandit loves the outdoors and since
we live in the country, he comes and goes through the cat door. He likes
climbing, and often climbs a bush and gets on the roof. He goes to the
highest point, sits down for a long period of time, and takes a look see.
We rescued a second cat, Bindi, four years ago. She was only about six
weeks old and had separation anxiety. From the first day Bandit started
looking out for her like a mother hen. Bandit likes wrestling with Bindi
and grooming her. (One of the pictures is Bandit teaching Bindi one of his
wrestling moves.) One of his favorite toys is a crinkle tunnel. Bindi gets
inside and Bandit bats the outside making noise. In the mornings,
following breakfast, he can be found sunbathing in a lawn chair. Then he
strolls into the art studio where he and I do paintings of animals. He is
the inspector, I am the painter.
Bandit weighs around twelve pounds. You can pick him up like a teddy bear and
hold him as long as you want to. He loves it.
