Daphne
was a gift to me from my husband, long before he was my husband. I
knew what to name her before I even saw her. She's like our baby and she
knows how to get what she wants just by being her cute self. She was the
tiniest kitten, with the skinniest neck, but has grown to be a lot more to
love weighing in at nearly twelve pounds. She doesn't warm up to people easily
but she has a special place in her heart for my husband and me, showing us
her true loving personality.
We have one other cat, Maggie, who is pretty, but there is not much going
on upstairs if you know what I mean. Maggie and Daphne like to torment
each other and take turns chasing each other around the house and over the
furniture.
Daphne is getting older and is a little less active than she used to be.
She has a new human in her life - my nineteen-month-old daughter - who she
despises. My daughter loves our other cat Maggie and they are good friends
but Daphne thinks my daughter is an intruder on her territory. Wait until
our next baby gets here! She will for sure be upset.
She still only likes my husband and me, hiding when people come over. She
likes to cuddle up to us when we are sleeping but her purring is so loud
that it keeps us awake! She spends most of her time lounging and sleeping
like any good cat would. She and Maggie still play and Daphne doesn't back
down! We love Daphne, and she is a very special member of our family.
