This
is my cat Mango, well, I didn't name her, but if I did I'd call her
Baby because that's what she is to me. She's six years old, but since she's
a female, she still remains quite small. She's sort of a mixed breed, but
she definitely identifies most with a Russian blue. I adopted her from a
friend here in Indiana after my previous cat was hit by a car. She really
helped me recuperate after that traumatic event, and I quickly grew to
love her. For the first couple of weeks, I constantly took her to bed with
me, worried she'd get lost in our house or something of the sort. Now,
years later, she still comes to my room and snuggles next to me. Usually
when I'm at school, my mom tells me she fervently cries around the house,
looking for me. Sometimes when I come home she's waiting at the door, and
she immediately flops on her side and rolls around, purring loudly. And if
I ever cry for any reason, she runs to me and jumps up, pawing at me and
nuzzling my face, meowing in worry.
Although, yes, technically her name is Mango, I constantly refer to her as
'Baby' which she responds to and even comes running when I call her. She's
a perfect angel most of the time, but, as with many and mostly all cats,
she does have that vicious spark in her. She's not declawed, so her claws
are as sharp as thorns, and I constantly have scratched on my hands and
arms, but it doesn't bother me at all. She's extremely playful, and so
what if she bites my fingers occasionally, or scratches me frequently?
She's just being a cat, and I adore everything about her. From her playful
'chasing-her-tail' spirit to her fluffy, sweet, affectionate love, my cat
is extremely special to me.
