We
adopted Eko (pronounced "echo") from our vet, where he was abandoned in
a box on their doorstep along with his littermates. We met him at four months
of age, but ended up adopting another cat that day. When we heard he still
needed a home at six months of age, we decided we would love another cat and
adopted this handsome "panther."
Eko is the most delightful combination of laid back and playful. He loves
to be held and snuggled. In the late afternoon, when the other three cats
are sleeping, he will come to the kitchen (where I am usually preparing
dinner) and look up at me with his big saucer eyes and give the sweetest
little meow that says, "Please give me some love." I scoop him up and pet
him as he kneads against my chest and gives the best purr mixed with a
trill. I call it his "turbo purr." He has all sorts of trills that he uses
for different occasions, especially to let the other cats know that he
would like to be chased. He taught our newest cat to play chase in no time flat.
Eko loves to keep himself entertained by playing soccer with little puff
balls. When they all end up under the dryer, he leads me to the laundry
room to retrieve them for him. For such a laid back fellow, he has us all
well trained.
Eko is my big, silky soft snuggle boy. I'm so glad we went back and adopted him.
