Iris
is the most special kitty I know of, and has a very special place in my
heart. I really want to share her story.
Starting from her roots, I got her mum from the neighbour village as a
kitten. She got pregnant with kittens at a very young age, she was about one
year old. I was thinking of sterilizing her, but saw that her belly was
strangely big, and not in a chubby way. I kept saying to my parents that she
was pregnant with kittens, although they kept saying she was just getting
fat. After some time, and continuing in my belief, she was so big it was
pretty obvious. On April 28th, I got woken up by my mom telling me to "come
look!" When I got closer to the room our cats eat in, I heard tiny tiny
squeeky noises, and realized what had just happend. I was so happy! Before
she had the kittens, I had asked my mum, if she had an orange kitten, could I
keep it. And I was allowed to. When I counted the kittens, six kittens,
between all the five other black ones, there was one orange and white one.
And I instantly fell in love.
Since that day, Iris has been cuddled with every day, she has traveled a lot,
explored and adventured, she has befriended other cats, and gotten a big
great personality. Since she was a very young kitten, she has traveled by
car, boat, and bss. Since this is something we started with at a very young
age, she has gotten used to it and will constantly sleep while she is sitting
in her cage in the car or any other place. It doesn't matter if it's one
hour, three hours, or an entire day. I think the most amazing about her is
that I can literally bring her everywhere, and she will adjust herself
withing hours or even minutes. The best thing she knows is to follow us on
holiday, in northern Norway, on a little island that we visit every summer.
She loves the wild nature that is up there, the sea, the birds, mice and
fresh air. Her warm, loving character and a mix of hilarious and funny
actions makes her the best cat. And it's amazing to see how much a cat can
trust her owner.
