Introducing
Anabella (aka Bella Cruella)! Do you know that feeling when you
swam too far into the sea not measuring your strength, and it starts to be
hard even to hold your head above the water?
That's how I felt when I took little Anabella in who was then just barely one
month old (born on July 20, 2013), but she already had already caught a virus
which was quite dangerous even to grown up cats, as every year you need to
vaccinate them against it. She was already quite weak and too small as her
muscles weren't able to grow up fully, and she struggled even to stand on her
all fours. She wasn't eating and drinking even if I gave her a bottle. To be
honest, I really lost it one moment when doctor told me what she had and how
much medicine she needed. It would be a minimum of a four-day treatment and
every day the same amount of medication needed to be pumped into her tiny
body. I couldn't watch how all those five needles with liquid went into her
little fragile body not only because I was afraid of needles in general, but
also because I couldn't imagine how frightening and painful life must have
been for her even before this - starvation, dehydration, weakness, high
temperature, sore throat, and I didn't even know how long she had had this virus.
Although now she is half the size she should be at this age, she is very
curious and brave. She has grown from a really cute little kitten to a
magnificent and beautiful creature with her own model-ish characteristics.
Her presence can't be ignored or else she will show you how silly, beautiful
an at the same time childish she can be. You don't need a TV to loose an hour
or two - just by watching her play or chasing her tail! And of course, this
picture is one I took while trying to wrap presents for Christmas with her
"help" - typical kitten help!
I can just cross my fingers and hope that every little soul will have a
saviour, who will fight till the end and won't allow another life to perish
needlessly! For those who wish to read the full story of how we struggled to
survive till today, can read my blog post.
Wishing you a really warm and cozy Christmas,
Madara and Bella
