This
pretty thing is my gran's cat. Last May we had this really cold and
rainy week. I was driving down the street when I saw a tiny little kitty with
a bloody nose, completely wet and skinny, scared and abandoned on a bridge
near my gran's house. I took him to the vet to check him out and turns out
his nose was bleeding from the cold, and another couple of hours there and he
would've died. I couldn't keep him at my place since I already have too many
pets, and also because my cat wasn't very friendly towards him, so I left him
at my granny's until I could find him a home. Little did I know I had already
found him one.
He's around one year old and I don't know what breed he is. We believe he's a
mixture of Siamese with an undefined breed. He goes by two different names,
because when I found him I named him Amendoim (the Brazilian Portuguese word
for Peanut) but then after some time at gran's they were already calling him
Neném (the Brazilian Portuguese word for Baby). We all live happily in a town
called São João del-Rei, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Peanut has changed my granny's life for the better. She's not that old but
she was already getting lonely and cranky and now she's all lively again.
Peanut is now the reason why she gets up every morning, and we would love to
see him nominated as pet of the day. He takes care of her in a really, really
scary way, as if he was human too, as if he knew exactly what to do to
comfort her when she needs and to keep her company when she's alone. They
spend most of their time playing with each other, and my gran really looks
like a child when he's around. I'm so glad we rescued that poor little kitty
that cold day. I don't believe in fate but I can't deny that this friendship
of theirs was simply meant to be.
