I
would like to present my beloved Belzebuth, although he began life very
badly. He's a French Melanistic Bengal (all black) but, in France, the
Official Book of Feline Origins doesn't recognize the black Bengals, and he
has a corysa disease gene, so shouldn't be bred, although it does not harm
him at all. He was unable to be shown at Cat Shows and didn't make any money
for the breeder where he was born. And so, this man intended to let him die
without any care or food. My niece had, at that moment, her own cattery of
Bengals and was looking for some males and females. My boy would be certainly
dead if she had not found him. She saved Belzebuth and his Sister Bloody,
but as she didn't have enough time to take care of the them, she searched for
good people to give them homes where they would be happy and well treated. I
agreed to take Belzebuth with me, and it is something that I never regretted
because he gives back so much love and sweetness! He's now living in Paris,
but loves to come with us to the mountains for holidays sometimes.
He's my very own Halloween Cat, because he's quite solidly black and
sometimes, the only thing we can see is his beautiful eyes. He's a
mischievous little boy who plays like a dog! He takes toys in his mouth and
puts them on our feet, asking for playtime. Sometimes, when one of us is in
the bathroom, he throws the toy into the bathtub, just to make us understand
that it is time to play. He very often makes us laugh because he displays a
lot of foolish behaviors! He's always following us to any room or activity
that we do: in the kitchen when I'm cooking (he supervises), in the bath room
(where one day he fell down into the water; he was the only one who wasn't
laughing), in the bedroom where he takes his spot (and it is a big spot) to
be comfortable. He received new toys for Christmas and he's very busy with
them. I guess he'll find new tricks and keep us happy with him for a long
time! I know now that I could not live without him. He is my sweet all black Belzebuth.
