My
family adopted Lucy in late December of 2008. Our old and well-loved cat,
Puddi, had died five months before, but we weren't looking for a new pet. Little
did we know, we picked Lucy out at the shelter on the same date of the year
that we had received Puddi years before.
From the moment we laid eyes on her, Lucy has been an amazing cat. She
"winked" at us behind the door of her little condo, and although that was
because of her eye infection, we were interested in her immediately. The day
after we adopted her, we hosted a Christmas party, and Lucy was incredibly
friendly towards all the guests right away.
We continue to love her more every day since we brought her home. We used to
have pet mice, and she was very interested in them. (To the point that she
ended up eating one a few years ago.) She loves going outside and gets upset
when the neighbors' cats come in our yard. She is very sweet to all people.
As I said before, she talks a lot (and often very loudly) but can also be
very independent and likes to sleep in baskets, on tables, and in chairs. We
play with her with laser pointers, catnip toys, and flippy feather toys. She
is also very affectionate when she is around my family, and sleeps with us in
our beds and is a great lap cat that purrs a lot.
Lucy is a beautiful, vocal, and very soft furball and we cherish her.
