Christopher
is one of a litter of four orphaned kittens that I fostered for my
local SPCA last year. He was by far the biggest of the babies, and the
healthiest. He was also the first to be adventurous and to snuggle with me.
They were only about three weeks old and very scared, but Christopher led the way
and he quickly showed them that I could be loved and trusted ... especially
since I was the source of their food!
At the end of their fostering, I chose to adopt all four of the kittens, who
have now grown to be gorgeous, fluffy kitties that I absolutely adore. I have
a special bond with Christopher and he is generally within a few feet of me
at all times. Christopher has a fantastic personality and is very lovable and
playful with a sassy streak of mischief. He is the peace keeper when the
kitten wrestling gets out of control, but also very capable of instigating
kitty stampedes from one end of the house to the other. He snuggles with my
dogs in their dog bed when he thinks they need company, and is always there
with me, ready to offer his "help" with anything I may be doing. He
especially loves to help me get ready for work ... which usually includes
brushing his hair as well as mine and plenty of bobbing and weaving on my
part as I attempt to apply mascara, eye-shadow, etc. without getting it all
over my face or on his. He stands on his hind legs, puts his paws on my chest
and attempts to steal mascara wands, makeup brushes and even the hair brush
as I get ready! Some days I wonder how I make it out of the house without
looking like a clown. I love Christopher dearly and I don't regret my foster
"failure" for a second!
