Meet
Hank! He is our first boy and he is the sweetest thing. Hank spent the
first few months of his life living under a shrub. His neighbors were huge,
brown spiders who lived in a ditch nearby. We found him on an afternoon ride
in our county. He meowed and meowed but wouldn't come near us. When we went
back the next day, he was hoarse from crying. After three days of feeding and
the first feeder bands of Hurricane Gustav rolling in, Hank "let" us catch him!
After a check-up revealed ear mites, he spent two weeks at his grandmother's
house listening to Matthew from the Bible and Tolstoy, often times meowing
and looking at her as if to agree or disagree. Growing up by himself left
Hank a little behind in his development. He had no idea what to do with a
string or a ball, but with steady playtime, he learned. To this day, anything
resembling a string is open for action! He is quite precious and seems very
appreciative of his family. He has three feline sisters, two parrot sisters
and one big Husky sister and he is loved by all.
Other than playing with string, his favorite thing is sitting in his
grandmother's lap and sleeping. He sleeps through everything, but makes up
for it during his few waking hours. When all the rugs are sideways or halfway
down the stairs, we know he's been up and about!
We love this guy and affectionately call him "Hanky Man," "Hankus,"
"Hankankank," "Hankster Boy," "Hankussupankus," "Hanker," and of course
"Hanky Panky." We love him so much and are so lucky we found him!
