We
adopted Snowball after someone abandoned her at our vet's office. She was
fully grown when we adopted her and we were lucky to have her for about ten
years. She passed away in 2008, but we think of her, and miss her, every day.
Snowy was the kind of cat who loved routine and we developed a whole host of
rituals that had to be performed at the same time every day. Her favorite was
a bedtime ritual that we called "The Brushins", which involved me following
her around the house until she finally allowed herself to be "caught". Then,
I'd take her into the bedroom and give her a nice thorough brushing with a
fine-toothed comb or brush. She loved it, and it was good for her too because
she had an especially thick, luxurious coat of fur.
She was unusually adventurous for a cat. Unlike our other cats, who hate to
leave the house for a trip to the vet or for any other reason, Snowball
welcomed such occasions with gusto. She couldn't wait to get out and explore
the world and we had to be careful not to allow her get carried away!
Most of all, though, Showball was a fabulous friend and companion to us. We'll never forget her. She was too wonderful and too special ever to forget!
