I
rescued Clover when he was three months old. He was a patient at the animal
hospital I was working at. At this young age, he kept getting urinary
blockages and he had to be catheterized several times. His parents couldn't
afford his treatment anymore, euthanasia was the only option at this point. I
couldn't allow this to happen, he was such a trooper and so sweet. I asked
his parents if they would surrender him to me for continuation of his medical
care. Luckily, they agreed and the rest is history.
Clover continues to have urinary issues every few months, but we deal with
them, and I have managed so far to keep him comfortable and happy. He is as
sweet as ever and gentle with us, but occasionally he aggravates his kitty
siblings. He is very playful and he can be very kittenish. He enjoys his
window shelf for sunning purposes, and enjoys the "cat safe" (unbreakable
ornaments) tree at Christmas. I never regretted my decision. He did actually
get named for the lucky clover leaf. His original name was Ty, but I renamed
him because he and I were so lucky to meet each other. Although he may not be
Irish, he and I would like to wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day!
