She
loves the summer rays but what makes her special is that fact that she
loves to lick the wood panels around the windows. She comes from Mexico and
because of a previous broken leg that didn't heal properly she hops around
with her leg sticking out slightly. She's also likes to swipe at the other
cats when they get near the food bowls (public bowls for our group, no one
has his or her own).
Well the story of her arrival from Mexico is that my parents are suckers for
cute things. One snowy filled day I came home from school and saw this
little orange cat standing up against the window staring at the white tundra
that was our backyard.
While my parents were on a trip in Mexico they found her. She was pregnant
and sadly she was too young, under a year old, to have her kits and lost them
while she was here in Michigan. One fun fact is our eldest cat is also from
Mexico as well and he's sixteen to seventeen I believe.
She is far from our oldest, mind you, she's in her mid-life span I would say.
And I think growing up in the streets of Mexico taught her how to be wary of
other cats and not to take her food for granted, so she defends what she
thinks is hers lol. She doesn't claw the others but just paws at their head
meaningfully to get her point across "THIS IS MINE."
Tierna's not just a pretty face, she's a weird one, but maybe that's why I
love her so very much.
