What
makes Ralphie special is that he is a very compassionate friend. I
rescued him while I was working on an abandoned house about four years ago. We
bonded very well together and I shared my lunch with him every day. One day I
found out we had to stop working on the house for a while. I decided to bring him home.
After taking him to the vet and finding out he was very sick. I had a two-month
journey to get him healthy again. Shortly before I brought him home my Father
passed away. He battled long but eventually peacefully passed. I couldn't
imagine naming him anything else than my Father's name Ralph. We are so close
he will even sleep on me tucked up under my chin - as much as a cat this big can at least.
Ralphie is very loving and truly is a grateful soul. You may say that I
rescued him but in the end we saved each other and endured through very
difficult times together. He has endured a summer haircut when he had matts
with aplomb - summer here in South Florida can be beastly if you have a thick
fur coat! And he even put up with wearing the Christmas kercheif for long
enough for me to get his picture when he went to get his nails trimmed in December!
