I
got Meggsie when I was four years old. He was a bribe, I was told if you go
and get your vaccinations done we'll get you a kitten. I gave him the name
Meggsie because on the way home we had to stop at the vets to get him de
sexed the vet asked me if I had named him yet and I hadn't. So he suggested
Ginger Megs. So the vet helped me with naming him. Meggsie was my first ever
pet so I was super excited.
Meggsie loves attention, to the point where if you stop patting him or you go
to give one of the other cats in our family attention he gives you a friendly
nip as if saying," Hey! pet me more!" He also follows us around outside when
feeding the horses.
Meggsie greets all visitors with a friendly meow and rubs up against them to
say hello even if he's never met that person before.
We’re lucky to still have Meggsie for late last year a carpet snake attacked
him and had severely hurt Meggsie. He was unwell for two to three weeks but he managed
to pull through it. As a result of the attack he's never really got his voice
back properly which is sad for he used to be a very vocal cat.
Meggsie and I have grown up together and he's such a joy to myself and my
family. Though he is getting old and he's starting to show his age but for
the meantime, he just keeps trekking on.
