Hi,
my name is Otis. I came to my new digs from a shelter (whatever that is)
when I was about nine months old. My mom was looking for a playful cat as a
companion for the girl cat and we had fun together, but I also liked playing
with the dog. Even though I'm 8+ years old, I still love to play. My person
says I'm so "inquisitive" and there is not a toy I don't like, but my
absolute favorite thing to play with is the forbidden Q-tip. I also enjoy
playing in the toilet bowl. Splashing the water is fun and I like to hide my
toys there too! She says my breed is domestic short hair troublemaker!
Soon after coming to the house I figured out how to open the cabinet where
the garbage is and the freezer door. I liked opening the freezer even though
the dog got most of the food. The lady says she has to bungee cord the door
closed now. She also has to lock the kitchen cabinets too because I like to
help myself to treats - well, okay, the dog did once eat four bags of dog treats
I knocked on the floor, but the human put my salmon treats up there and I had
to get to them. Seriously, I have a question - why does my mom get mad at me
when I wake her up at 4:00 a.m. to eat? I'm hungry and she locks the cabinets, so I need her.
I currently have two brothers, Stubby the cat and Indy the smelly beagle. They
are both pigs and eat their food really fast and then try to get mine -
what's up with that? We foster (whatever that means) dogs and I am the
welcoming committee for all four legged newcomers. I always try to make
friends and will play with almost all of them. I'm a little shy around the
two-leggers, but if you're around enough I'll let you pet me, but be warned
when I'm done being petted I will give you a little nip. Stubby says, "Hey
Otis, why don't you just leave when you don't want to be petted anymore?" and
I tell him, "Because it's my house and they're the ones that should leave."
Even though my human hides all the plastic bags when she knows I like to eat
them - I've decided I kind of like it here and will stick around a while longer!
