We adopted seven-week-old runt Paris (along with her much larger sister, Nicky) last April. She joined our resident 4-year-old male cat, Church, who quickly took her under his wing, even carrying her in his mouth. She wasn’t even a full pound yet, and would not eat or drink anything. We started her on formula, which she lapped up off the lid of a coffee can because a bread plate was too large for her! She transitioned to wet food in a few days, and that is still her favorite thing in the world!
She is a polydactyl (thumbs) as well, which gives her a funny sort of swagger when she walks, although I think it’s her diva attitude. Paris wants what Paris wants, and she’s not having it any other way. While her same age sister rapidly matures, Paris continues to learn at her own pace and if you don’t like it, too bad for you! We work around her, and that’s how she likes it.
We often say she was aptly named after Paris Hilton...she is quite the princess. But when she hops up and sits on your shoulder, and purrs in your ear, she can easily melt your heart...and she knows it. She is our little angel and we are so glad she’s here.
