We found Chester while walking on a trail one day in a park. He was
alone but was not scared of us. He walked with us as we did our two-mile
hike. My husband would carry him some, but most of it he walked. We
already had three cats at home so I didn't ask for him. But my husband
surprised me! The kitty followed us to the car and he scooped him up and
we bought him home.
My husband named him Chester, we had him fixed and not long after that
he got encephalitis. We didn't know what it was at first, but he was
having seizures, so we took him to the vet right away. He stayed a week
and almost died. He had some brain damage when he came home and his
right front leg didn't want to work right, though he is much better now.
Chester loves the little toy rats you buy at Walmart with the fur and
feathers on them. When he can't find one we get the flashlight out and
go (toy) "rat hunting." We just love him and we are glad he is in our lives,
especially my husband.
